Everybody and their grandmother can make gameplay videos and upload them to YouTube nowadays, thanks to all the specialized utilities that make this activity as simple as possible. An excellent example is FBX Game Recorder, which lets you get your videos out there quickly and easily. The software is designed in a way that allows you to focus more on your games rather than recording and editing videos. From recording footage to sending the video to YouTube, everything can be done on the fly, without a bit of effort.

FBX works on both 32 and 64-bit versions of Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10. Installing the program doesn't involve any complicated settings, and you don't have to meet any special requirements. What's more, the software doesn't make heavy use of your resources, like other recorders on the market.

The software's tabbed user interface is quite easy to learn since it's not overcrowded with options. The first thing it displays when you launch it is a quick guide on how to record gameplay footage, as well as a few useful tips. You can just leave the program working in the background and start recording at any time, by pressing a simple hotkey, while you're in the game, and stop recording by pressing the same hotkey. An in-game overlay lets you know if you're recording or not, and it also shows your current framerate, so you will always know what's going on, without having to Alt+Tab out of the game. Additionally, you can make use of other hotkeys, to pause and resume the recording, save the clip while recording, take snapshots or place a marker in the recording, to help you find that great moment in the timeline when you're editing the footage.

FBX makes full use of Intel or AMD hardware acceleration, which gives you great performance in all major games, so you can show off your moves in all major games, even if you don't have high-end hardware. If the main recording mode doesn't work with the game you're playing, you can switch to full-screen recording mode, which records the entire screen, but the in-game overlay will disappear. Furthermore, the software lets you make many other changes, like recording system sounds or microphone input, adding a webcam feed, changing hotkeys and much more.

Recordings are stored automatically in FBX's library, where you can sort them by date or game title. Besides playing your recordings, on the same window, you can also edit them. While FBX doesn't offer the same level of flexibility as professional video editing tools, it does provide you with enough features to make your recordings more attractive. You can pick between numerous gaming culture-inspired stickers to add to your video, insert text, sounds, slow down the footage, speed it up or freeze-frame.

When your video is ready, you can decide to store it in a local folder, in MP4 or GIF format, and play it for your friends or send it to someone. However, the best way to share your videos is to upload them to YouTube, which you can do with a single click. Instead of storing your video locally, when you're done editing, you can simply click a YouTube button and FBX will upload it right away and automatically show its URL, along with a Copy option.

Even if you have modest hardware, FBX Game Recorder will help you share the best moments in your games, with minimum effort from your part.

Pros:
You can record and edit gameplay footage without any effort. The software's hotkeys help you record, save clips, take screenshots and perform other actions on the fly. Besides exporting your videos locally, the software can also upload them directly to YouTube.

Cons:
You can record only 15 minutes of footage with the free version.
